01 — The story

Orla and James wanted a wedding that felt like a long summer lunch with everyone they love. We built the day around the estate’s walled garden: an aisle of clipped box and white roses, a long table beneath the old pear trees and dancing in the orangery as the light went.

Most of their guests travelled from Dublin and Edinburgh, so we arranged coaches from Bath, a Friday supper in the village pub and a lazy Sunday brunch. The detail Orla still mentions is the one nobody noticed: a quiet room with tea and blankets for her grandmother.
